BOTULINIC TOXIN:

The botulinic toxin is a neurotoxin produced by the botulinum Clostridium which is an unaerobic bacillus, gram positive. This botulinic toxin has great affinity with the neuromuscular junction causing a chemical denervation which is responsible for the temporary interruption of the moto stimulus.

The interruption of the motor stimulus causes the facial muscle not to contract, resulting in localized muscle flaccidity with consequent improvement of wrinkles and lines.

The botulinic toxin is used predominantly for the treatment of wrinkles and lines in the front-glabelar and periorbital areas, besides cervical aging, lips and other indications.

The effect of the botulinic toxin can be observed in the first 48 hours after treatment with a gradual improvement in the seven to ten days after the application when the effect is stabilized for a period of three to six months.
